Joel Hollon has been selected as the new Senior Grant Writer for the City of Pensacola, bringing nearly 10 years of experience in grant procurement to the position. During his career, Hollon has procured and administered over $15 million in grants. As the Senior Grant Writer, Hollon is responsible for grant application research, grant writing, and monitoring and tracking grant funds under the scope of grant management for the City of Pensacola.

Hollon most recently worked as the Grants Management Coordinator for Escambia County Public Schools, responsible for researching, procuring and administering multimillion-dollar governmental grants. He previously served as a Continuous Improvement Specialist for Escambia County Public Schools, where he managed, supervised and reported on military grant activities, along with securing large-scale grants for schools, including grants upwards of $1 million. 

Hollon earned his Bachelor of Arts in middle/junior high education, Master of Education in curriculum and instruction, and Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida.

As the Senior Grant Writer, Hollon will direct procurement and administration of grants for the City of Pensacola, along with evaluating grant funding opportunities that have the potential to further the city's goals and objectives. Additionally, Hollon will provide strategic direction to senior administration and coordinate grant management training for directors and city staff.

Hollon will work under the direction of Finance Director Amy Lovoy. His responsibilities will also include managing the completion of grant contracts and directing the development and implementation of special projects for the City of Pensacola.
