If you haven't visited Hitzman-Optimist Park lately, you really should just to check out the new inclusive playground that was installed in March 2019. The new playground was designed to be accessible for people of all ages and abilities and develops the whole child by providing opportunities for physical, social and emotional, sensory, cognitive, and communicative play. Bring the family out for a fun day at the park! The park also features a 9-hole disc golf course that is nestled among the tall pine trees, plenty of shaded picnic areas, soccer fields, a backstop for baseball, and restrooms. In 2021 and 2022 several improvements we made at the park including renovations to the disc golf course and playground, the addition of seven soccer barrier nets, the addition of four picnic tables and two ADA picnic tables, and the new addition of new large and small dog park benches.
