Why can't we have a program implemented for employees with 30 years of service to be given a gold ring or a gold watch to show the employees that the city cares about it's employees?

The City is honored to recognize all employees with milestone years of service.  Currently, the City recognizes these employees with gold lapel pins.  These service pins are given for 5 years to 30 years of dedicated City service.  Employees with 35 years of service or more are presented with a special token, such as a medallion.  These are presented by the Mayor at a monthly Mayoral Employee Recognition Event.  All City employees (and their family and friends) are encouraged to attend this event.  Upon retirement, employees with 20+ years of service are recognized with plaque and a retirement gift offered in the City's retirement gift brochure.  Among these gifts are an money clip or $100 gift cards to various establishments around Pensacola.
