Next Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup Sept. 28


The next Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup day will be on Saturday, Sept. 28, allowing residents in the cleanup areas to leave eligible items at the curb to be picked up by City of Pensacola Sanitation Services free of charge.

Residents in the cleanup area must leave items at curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of the cleanup. 

Please note that items left at curbside outside of the cleanup area will not be collected. 

This month's cleanup area covers northeast Pensacola near Pensacola International Airport, generally south of Creighton Road, north of Summit Boulevard, east of 12th Avenue and west of Spanish Trail. Please see the cleanup map for details.

Pensacola Fire Department Honors Fallen FDNY Firefighters at 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb


Members of the Pensacola Fire Department participated in the 2019 Panama City Beach 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, Sept. 7, honoring and remembering the FDNY firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001. 

Despite a heat index upwards of 104 degrees, PFD members donned full fire gear and air packs to complete the stair climb while carrying a 2.5 inch hose bundle with the names of all 343 firefighters who died on 9/11 carefully written. 

The following members of PFD participated in this year's memorial stair climb:

  • Firefighters Nick King, Ricky Ste. Croix, Hunter West, Daniel Del Rio and Blane Coomer
  • Lt. Brian Bacher
  • Captains Jason Weidlich, Mike Slater and Jed Martin

Mayor Robinson Presents Suicide Prevention Week Proclamation


Mayor Grover Robinson presented a National Suicide Prevention Week proclamation Tuesday, Sept. 10 to the University of West Florida, in partnership with UWF President Dr. Martha Saunders and the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega, UWF Chapter. National Suicide Prevention Week runs from Sept. 8-14, and anyone who is struggling is encouraged to seek help. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-8355. Final Public Hearing on Proposed Fiscal Year 2020 Budget is Sept. 18 


The final public hearing on the proposed FY 2020 budget is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, located on the first floor of City Hall, 222 W. Main St. 

The first public hearing took place Wednesday, Sept. 11. 

The Fiscal Year 2020 budget for the City of Pensacola is available online, along with a Budget in Brief informational guide for citizens.

Join Us for Performing Arts Night Sept. 18 at Woodland Heights Resource Center


Woodland Heights Resource Center will host a Performing Arts Night Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for the public to help shape future performing arts programming at the center.

The community is encouraged to attend this informative evening to see live demonstrations and visit with local performing arts organizations. All ages are welcome.

Don't Forget: Two Golf Events are Coming Your Way!

Osceola Golf Course will play host to the Adult Skills Challenge with Longest Drive Contest presented by Bridgestone Golf on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bridgestone representatives will be onsite for ball fitting. The Longest Drive Contest is $10 per person. There will also be an 18-Hole Putting Contest, which is $10 per person.

The 11th annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Classic is coming up on Friday, Oct. 4, and we are looking for teams and sponsors.

All proceeds benefit the The First Tee of Northwest Florida. The event runs from 1-5 p.m. Even if you aren’t playing in the tournament, you can still help the First Tee. There will be a Ball Drop after the tournament which will be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets for the Ball Drop are $10 each or three for $20 and can be purchased through the First Tee Office or at Osceola Golf Course.  

Osceola Golf Course is located at  300 Tonawanda Drive.
