Local Youth Spend the Week with Pensacola Police Department for Camp Friendship


About 60 local children ages 5-10 are spending the week with Pensacola Police Department for Camp Friendship, learning about public service, first responders and good citizenship. 

The camp is sponsored by PPD and hosted at Workman Middle School, with a variety of fun activities including arts, crafts and games. Participants also got to experience some fun field trips to see the Blue Angels, Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola Police and Fire Departments, and the Institute for Human & Machine Cognition.

Hurry! Vote Wahoos Stadium for Best of the Ballparks


Voting is underway for Best of the Ballparks 2019, and Blue Wahoos Stadium is in the running for the top spot. Wahoos Stadium has made it to round three, and voting ends at 3 p.m. today, Thursday, June 13.

Voting for the semifinals will begin immediately following round three, so be ready to vote again if Wahoos Stadium makes it through to the next round!

Need Help Safely Installing Your Car Seat? Let Pensacola Firefighters Help at the Car Seat Rodeo 


Pensacola Fire Department will host a Car Seat Rodeo on Friday, June 14 from 8-10 a.m., a free community event providing car seat installation assistance and safety checks. The event will take place at Fire Station 1, 400 E. Cervantes St. 

Residents may stop by anytime between 8 and 10 a.m. to have their car seats checked or installed by certified firefighters, whose goal is to ensure children are as safe as possible in a vehicle. 

The event is free, but donations are welcome. All donations go toward the car seat program and future training of the department's firefighters.

Make a Splash – It's Officially Pool Season!


Our swim season is in full swing, and the city pools are the best place to jump in and cool off in the summer heat! Roger Scott Pool and Cecil T. Hunter Pool offer open swim sessions every day and are open through Labor Day. Each pool has unique features like water slides and zero-depth entry pools with spray features for fun in the sun!

Please pardon our construction this summer at Hunter Pool. The main pool house is undergoing renovations, but we are still open for business.  

Did you know that we offer morning and evening lap swim hours at Cecil T. Hunter Pool? The hours are Monday-Friday from 5:30-10 a.m. and again from 5:30-7 p.m. The cost is $2.25 for adults. Cecil T. Hunter Pool is located at 200 E. Blount St. underneath the I-110 overpass near downtown.

Open Gym Volleyball Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. at Vickrey Resource Center

Open gym volleyball is back at the Vickrey Resource Center, happening Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. It is open to all ages (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult), and the cost is just $1 per person.

Get an Inside Look at the Garden District Cottages June 21


If you've been wanting to check out the inside of one of the homes at Garden District Cottages, now is your chance! Garden District Cottages will be showing off their Baylen layout on Friday, June 21. 

The Garden District Cottages are located at the site of the former Blount School on Gregory Street. 

The Garden District Cottages in Downtown Pensacola, Florida are comprised of 26 new homes inspired by classic details blending the Old South, Creole, and Antebellum Architectural styles, which adds a timeless elegance and a sense of history.

The homes are being built by Parsco LLC, with four floor plans created for the neighborhood.  Six of the homes were designated to be used for the City of Pensacola Housing Incentive Program.
