United Airlines Adds Daily Nonstop Flights Between PNS and New York/Newark
Pensacola International Airport Gains New Daily Route
United Airlines has launched daily nonstop service between Pensacola International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport, with the inaugural flight taking place today, Thursday, June 6. With the addition of Newark, Pensacola International Airport now flies nonstop to 20 destinations.
The inaugural flight was celebrated today with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Grover Robinson, the Greater Pensacola Chamber, Pensacola International Airport Director Dan Flynn and United Airlines representatives.
“We are excited that United Airlines is opening the door for even more visitors to discover Pensacola and everything our great city has to offer, from our beautiful beaches and waterways to our rich history and vibrant downtown," Mayor Robinson said. "The addition of nonstop flights from Newark, New Jersey to Pensacola International Airport is a testament to the continually growing interest in visiting Pensacola from destinations throughout the country, and we look forward to welcoming new visitors from the Newark and New York City area.”
The Mayor's Office and airport team have been working on flights to the New York metropolitan area for several years, so the addition of this route marks an exciting accomplishment for the City of Pensacola.
The PNS route is one of 22 new routes United Airlines announced it will add in 2019. Flight times may vary, but flights are scheduled to depart PNS daily at 3:25 p.m. and arrive at EWR at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Passengers will enjoy a two-class configuration aircraft.
