Mayor announces Town Hall meeting for District 2

Mayor Grover Robinson will hold his third town hall meeting on April 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Asbury Place at Cokesbury Church.

Mayor Robinson has been working with Councilwoman Sherri Myers to plan this town hall. He has already held town halls in District 5 with Councilman Gerald Wingate and District 7 with Councilwoman Jewel Cannada-Wynn.

Hosting town halls is a high priority for Mayor Robinson. During his campaign for mayor, Robinson promised he would host town halls at various locations throughout the City so citizens would not have to come to City Hall to have their voice heard.

Mayor Robinson hopes citizens will attend the town hall so he can work with them to come up with a plan to move the City forward.

Congratulations Todd Thompson on being named Pensacola Chamber’s President and CEO

The Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted at their April meeting to name Todd Thomson President/CEO of the organization.  Thomson replaces former Chamber President/CEO Clay Ingram, who was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to lead Volunteer Florida in January.  Thomson had been serving as the Chamber’s Interim President/CEO since Ingram’s departure.

Thomson joined the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce in February 2015 and has served as Vice President of Public Affairs for the past three years.  Before joining the Chamber, Thomson had a twenty-year career in Florida government and politics; including serving as Staff Director for the Redistricting Committee in the Florida House of Representatives and as Director of Government Relations for BP following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.  Thomson has experience as a legislative lobbyist, grassroots organizer, and political campaign consultant.  Thomson has managed and consulted for numerous successful campaigns on the federal, state, and local levels.

“The Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce has evolved over the past few years with a new location, new people, and a new focus.  That focus is to be as a resource and advocate for small businesses and a key supporter of our local military installations,” Thomson stated.  “We will continue to expand on these roles by serving as a key convener for local organizations; bringing people together to address the key issues facing our community and local businesses.”
