City Council approves Mayor Grover Robinson’s appointment for City Attorney

On January 17, the Pensacola City Council unanimously voted to approve the mayoral appointment of Susan Woolf as City Attorney.

“I have the upmost confidence in Ms. Woolf and I’m glad to see she’s being proposed for this position,” Council Vice President P.C. Wu said.

Mayor Robinson selected Woolf for the position shortly after he took office because of her familiarity with the City of Pensacola and its employees, departments, boards and procedures.

“We certainly are very supportive and look forward to having Ms. Woolf here and are very excited about that,” Mayor Grover Robinson told the council.

Susan Woolf

Woolf is a native Pensacolian and graduated from Emory University undergraduate and Cornell Law School with a Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Public Law. She served as a law clerk to a federal appellate judge, worked in the local State Attorney’s office as a prosecutor for four years, and was partner in the local firm of Shell, Fleming, Davis & Menge for nine years before joining the City Attorney’s office as Assistant City Attorney in 2008. She then became the Pensacola Police Department’s General Counsel in 2011 until Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller Pam Childers appointed her as General Counsel for the Clerk of Court in 2013 where she currently serves.

Woolf will begin with the City on February 4.

Sidewalk prioritization webpage added to City website

In 2017, The City of Pensacola Public Works department undertook an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Sidewalk Assessment, during which the City’s existing sidewalk inventory was evaluated for ADA compliance. At the conclusion of the assessment, the sidewalks were sorted & prioritized for repairs/improvements based on their “Audit Score.” This newly added webpage is a prioritized list of the City’s current sidewalk projects. Calling all non-profits for the baseball season parking program

A photo of Community Maritime Park

The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation department invites YOUR non-profit to participate in a fantastic fundraising opportunity.

The Community Maritime Park Volunteer Parking Program gives local non-profits a platform to gain local exposure along with fundraising at Blue Wahoo home games. The Volunteer Parking Program averages over $20,000 in funds raised per season for local non-profit organizations while providing an impressive opportunity to reach thousands of potential new supporters.

Here’s how it works: each participating organization will sell parking permits for vehicles parking at the Community Maritime Park main parking lot for one Blue Wahoos home stand this season. A home stand consists of five home games that may or may not be on consecutive days. The 2019 season consists of 14 home stands occurring from April to late August. In order to allow this opportunity for as many organizations possible, we require our 2018 participants to wait until 2020 to apply again.

We begin accepting applications for the 2019 Season on February 4th.
