City Parks and Recreation To Host Halloween Events
(Pensacola, FL) - The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department will host several Halloween-themed events at some of the neighborhood resource centers and the Roger Scott Athletic Complex in October. All events are free of an admission charge.
Woodland Heights Resource Center will host the 3rd Annual Woodland's Haunted Hallway on Friday, October 19th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. All who dare to enter will get a frightful tour of the haunted hallway. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The 9th Annual Play Pensacola Halloween Egg Haunt will take place on Saturday, October 27, at Roger Scott Athletic Complex from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
There will be five egg haunts for children who are stroller age up to 13 years, plus carnival-style games, a Haunted Hayride, bounce houses, costume contest and photo booth, and visits from some creepy crawlers. Admission to the event is free. We ask those who can to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item to the event for a MANNA food drive.
Egg Haunt Schedule:
6:00 p.m. Infant to 2 years
6:30 p.m. 3 to 4 years
7:00 p.m. 5 to 7 years
7:30 p.m. 8 to 10 years
7:50 p.m. 11 to 13 years
Participants should arrive at the Egg Haunt (football field main gate) 15 minutes before their age group begins.
Registration is now open for the Pensacola News Journal Costume Contest on PlayPensacola.com. Space is limited to 30 participants per age group so preregistration is strongly recommended. The deadline to preregister for the costume contest is 11:59 p.m. on October 24, 2018. Walk-ups will only be taken at the event for age groups with space available.
Prizes will be awarded by the Pensacola News Journal for the Cutest, Scariest, and Best Overall Costume in each age group. Preference may be given to original costumes in all age categories.

Bayview Senior Center at Brownsville will host their 3rd Annual Chili Cook Off & Costume Contest on Wednesday, October 31 from 11:00 a.m. until noon for ages 50 and up. Participants can register at the front desk.
Fricker Center Halloween Trunk or Treat will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Join the free Halloween extravaganza filled with candy, games, and fun for ages 3-12. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Candy and prizes available while supplies last.
