The Pensacola Beach Air Show begins at noon on Saturday.

Pensacola Bay Cruises is offering a Blue Angels Special on ferry rides.  Adult tickets are $15 and child tickets are $10. You can book your tickets online through their website.

Radio station hosts school supply drive at Woodland Heights Resource Center

Music, food and a good cause—three greats things!

The new 107.3 The Beat made a stop at Woodland Heights Resource Center on Wednesday to collect school supplies, all while providing a good time.

It is part of their “Beat The Streets Pop Up Stop” school supply drive. The iHeartRADIO station asks listeners where they want to see a pop-up party. They tally up the votes and find a neutral location to host the school supply drive. They bring a live DJ, on-air personalities and food and drinks.

Progress of construction at Fire Station 3 on Summit Boulevard

Have you driven along Summit Boulevard recently?

If so, you may have seen the construction of a new building right across the street from the Pensacola International Airport.

That is going to be the new Fire Station 3.

The first photo above was taken July 5. Below it is a rendering of the final design, so you can see work is coming along quite nicely.

The project is expected to be ready for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the beginning of next year.

Last day to take survey on the Port of Pensacola is Saturday

Photo of the Port of Pensacola

If you have not taken the online survey to give your thoughts on the Port of Pensacola's future, now is the time to do it.

The online survey closes on July 14.

The City of Pensacola has retained the maritime and community planning experts of Moffatt & Nichol to help with the visioning and strategy effort for the Port. The group wants feedback and input from the public. They will be providing their Final Vision Plan and Reinvestment Strategy to the city council on October 11.

Along with the online survey, the group hosted an open house workshop last month.

The next round of workshops have been scheduled for August 13, 14 and 15.

Visit portsidepensacola.com to get times and locations for the meeting, as well as take the survey.
