Work on the natural gas distribution system improvements program will also continue this week. Crews from Pensacola Energy will be working throughout the city to replace aging cast-iron gas main with new, medium-density polyethylene piping. Much of the cast-iron main being replaced has been in service for a century or more.

The natural gas distribution system improvements benefit Pensacola Energy customers through:

  • Increased safety.
  • Improved system reliability.
  • Reduced maintenance costs.
  • Increased system capacity.

More information on the natural gas distribution system improvements program is available by calling Pensacola Energy, (850) 474-5300.

Residents and property owners are reminded that cars parked on the street must be removed before work can begin. Construction personnel are going door-to-door 24-48 hours in advance of work to remind property owners of the parking restrictions. Vehicles left on the street will be subject to relocation.
