Independence Day Symphony Sparks and Stars

Thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate Independence Day at Symphony, Sparks, and Stars with our Pensacola Symphony Orchestra. Thank you to the Levin Firm, and Peter and Katrina Mougey for putting on this amazing, free, family-friendly event. It was truly a beautiful evening in Downtown Pensacola at the Community Maritime Park Amphitheater.

Pathways for Change

Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward had the honor of speaking at The Blue Angels Foundation check presentation for Pathways for Change new Clinton Cox Women's Center. This new facility will offer housing and support for women veterans as they transition from military life to civilian life.

Police and Manna Food Pantries

The Pensacola Police Department and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office joined forces in a "doughnut strike" to raise food donations for Manna Food Pantries.

The doughnut strike entailed officers and deputies vowing not to eat any doughnuts until they received 5,000 pounds of donated food from the community. By the end of the five-day drive, they'd raised 25,202 pounds of food.

"We were amazed at how the community responded, and our officers really enjoyed the time we had to interact with citizens," said PPD Capt. Chuck Mallett. "We took a lot of pictures, shook a lot of hands and hugged a lot of necks."

Blue Angels Air Show

It's going to be an exciting week for Blue Angels fans as they prepare for this year's Pensacola Beach Air Show. Here's the schedule as it stands now, (subject to weather related changes).

Thursday 7/6 - Practice demonstration over the beach scheduled for 2:00 p.m following Fat Albert's practice. Note: No practice over NAS Pensacola this day.
Friday 7/7 - Dress rehearsal for the 2017 Pensacola Beach Air Show! Scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
Saturday 7/8 - Show time! The performance starts at 2:00 p.m.

FAT ALBERT WILL MAKE HER 2017 DEMONSTRATION DEBUT THIS WEEKEND!
