Street resurfacing and natural gas infrastructure upgrades - Week 8

Dry weather and comfortable temperatures last week set the stage for progress in the city’s $30 million street resurfacing and natural gas infrastructure upgrades program. Construction crews representing Pensacola Energy worked in the Downtown West and South Palafox sectors of the city to replace antiquated cast-iron natural gas lines with modern, corrosion-free medium-density polyethylene pipe.

The city’s street resurfacing efforts are currently focused in the downtown area and in the western section of Pensacola. It’s an aggressive program that is milling and resurfacing about 1800 city blocks, or 119-miles of streets and roadways.

Speakers Bureau

We'd like to introduce our Speakers Bureau! The City of Pensacola Speakers Bureau is a new program that provides public speakers for any event. Perfect for local clubs, schools, civic groups, neighborhood associations and community organizations. Our bureau is a collection of speakers that offer to speak on an array of subjects.

Our speakers are experts in their fields who are eager to share their knowledge and department information with the community. They are an excellent resource with many stories to share and are capable of providing answers to many important questions about the City of Pensacola.

Presentations include anything from the budgeting process to environmental awareness. This service is free of charge. Please select topics based on the intended audience and its area of interest. Please note that submissions should be placed 2 to 3 weeks prior to the date that you would like the speaker to present. Learn more.

Forgotten child memorial event

Mayor Hayward had the honor of speaking at the Guardian Ad Litem Forgotten Child Event. This event is working to raise awareness for the more than 300 children in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties that are waiting for an adult to be their advocate in our court system. These children are alleged to be victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect and need us to be their voice. Help spread the word. Working together we can make a difference. The 15th Annual Pink Ribbon Tennis Tournament is April 20-22 at Roger Scott Athletic Complex. Registration is full but anyone come out and support the event.
