REMINDER: City to Host Pensacola Senior Games
(Starting Today) Sept. 9 - Sept. 23
The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department is scheduled to host the Pensacola Senior Games starting today, Friday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 23.
Citizens age 50 and older may compete in 22 recreation and sporting events over the course of a two-week period. Athletes of all levels of experience are encouraged to participate. Game events will include bocce, horseshoes, bowling, darts, track and field, tennis, and more. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded to each age group in each game event.
The 2022 Pensacola Senior Games Competition Schedule and Registration forms are now available online. Registration forms can be mailed or dropped off at Vickrey Resource Center through the scheduled date of each event. Participants will be charged $10 for their first event and $1 per additional event. Registration includes a t-shirt and awards. Additional fees for golf and bowling registration will be administered.
The Pensacola Senior Games is sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and is a qualifier for the 2022 Florida Senior Games scheduled to be held Saturday, Dec. 3 through Sunday, Dec. 11 in Pasco County, Florida.
The Florida Senior Games, held annually, is dedicated to:
- Encouraging and promoting healthy lifestyles for Florida's seniors
- Providing Florida's seniors with an opportunity to compete at the local, state and national level
- Providing all senior citizens of Florida with an affordable and quality multi-sport festival they can call their own
