City Celebrates John Sunday, Jr. Plaza Dedication


The City of Pensacola hosted members of the community and the Sunday family to celebrate the dedication of the John Sunday, Jr. Memorial Plaza on Thursday, Sept. 1. The north plaza of City Hall was renamed after John Sunday, Jr. to honor his legacy and his many accomplishments in Pensacola.

Check Out the New Playground Equipment at
Long Hollow Park!


The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department has installed new playground equipment at Long Hollow Park, including a nature discovery play house, whirlwind seat, merry musical display and play structure, complete with slides and climbing features. The park also features a walking path, jungle gym, swing sets, benches and public art.

Give Us Your Input: One Week Left to Take Our Annual Resident Satisfaction Survey


The City of Pensacola is conducting its annual resident satisfaction survey and is encouraging all city residents to participate and let their voices be heard. 

City residents are asked to complete the survey online at uwf.edu/HaasResidentSurvey or by phone at 850-495-2666 by Friday, Sept. 9. Residents should also receive a postcard in the mail prompting them to complete the survey.

August 2022 Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup Results

Neighborhood cleanup truck picking up bulk waste

The August Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup collected over 40 tons (81,220 pounds) of bulk waste, along with 23 tires and 1,117 gallons of paint. The cleanup took place on Saturday, Aug. 27 with 18 loads picked up from the area east of Spanish Trail and north of Summit Boulevard.

The City of Pensacola was recently awarded the Distinguished Business Partner of the Year Award at the United Way of West Florida’s Annual Meeting, in honor of our corporate ethics and commitment to building a strong, healthy community.

Congratulations to the City's Newest Certified
Floodplain Managers


Three City of Pensacola Inspections employees recently attended training and passed the exam to become Certified Floodplain Managers in Escambia County, which will help further strengthen the city's floodplain management program.

City Inspections staff Ryan Aldrich, Terry Lamb, and Glenn McPherson all passed the exam on the first attempt, bringing the total number of Certified Floodplain Managers on City of Pensacola staff to seven.

City of Pensacola Recognizes Employees of the Month, Service Anniversaries


The City of Pensacola recently recognized employees' service anniversaries and the employees of the month for June, July and August at a Mayoral Recognition Ceremony. Congratulations to the following Employees of the Month:

SAVE THE DATE: Mayor Robinson and Councilman Jones to Host District 3 Town Hall Meeting Sept. 27

 

Mayor Grover Robinson and District 3 Councilman Casey Jones will host a District 3 Town Hall Meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Gull Point Resource Center, located at 7000 Spanish Trail in Pensacola. All members of the community are invited and encouraged to come to provide input.

The meeting will also be live streamed on Facebook at Facebook.com/PensacolaMayor.

Labor Day Closures


City Hall, administrative offices and community resource centers will be closed Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day. 

Exceptions:

  • Osceola Golf Course and Roger Scott Tennis Center will remain open.

All City Sanitation customers will receive service one day later than their usual pickup day the week of Sept. 5. For information on scheduling changes and closures, read the city’s press release.
