Chipley, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public meeting concerning resurfacing improvements on U.S. 29 (North Palafox Street) from U.S. 90 (Cervantes Street) to State Road (S.R.) 296 (Brent Lane/Beverly Parkway) in Escambia County on Tuesday, Aug 16, 2022, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. (CDT).
Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend the virtual meeting at
www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the meeting in-person at the Spencer Bibbs Center, 2005 North 6th Avenue, Pensacola, FL. Pre-registration is required for the virtual format and encouraged for in-person attendees. Interested persons can visit the project website at

This meeting is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of this project is to resurface U.S. 29 from West Scott Street to S.R. 296 (Brent Lane/Beverly Parkway), reconstruct the U.S. 29 at S.R. 292 (Pace Boulevard) intersection to improve traffic flow, and add safety and mobility improvements from U.S. 90 (Cervantes Street) to West Scott Street. Minor right-of-way acquisition will be required. Bids for construction are scheduled to occur spring 2023.

Maps, drawings and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so at the meeting or may contact the FDOT Project Manager using the information provided above. The deadline to submit official comments related to this public meeting is Friday, Aug. 26, 2022.
