UPDATE: Hancock Lane at Airport Boulevard Reopen to Traffic 

The intersection has reopened. Crews will continue working on the side of the road.Please use caution in the area.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:

The intersection of Airport Boulevard and Hancock Lane is currently closed due to a Pensacola Energy gas line break. A contractor hit the gas main while performing work in the area today, Wednesday, March 30. 

Pensacola Energy has shut off natural gas to the impacted line. No Pensacola Energy customers are affected at this time. 

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible. The intersection has been blocked, and traffic is being detoured. Crews from Pensacola Energy, Escambia County Fire Rescue, and Florida Highway Patrol are on scene. 

Repairs are expected to take several hours, but drivers should be able to access the intersection within the next hour. Another update will be sent when the intersection has reopened.
