REMINDER: UF/IFAS Extension and PLACE:SLR to Hold "Tides of Change" Short Film Premiere

Join the City of Pensacola for a special premiere of the film "Tides of Change," hosted by the Escambia County UF/IFAS Extension Office and PLACE:SLR. The event will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at the Hunter Amphitheater at Community Maritime Park, 301 W. Main St.

"Tides of Change" is a short film explaining the impact of sea-level rise in Northwest Florida, and how residents can support community flood resilience. The film covers understanding future risks, working with natural systems, responding to flood hazards, planning for future sea-level rise and preparing local businesses.

An open house with interactive tables and activities on display will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the premiere of "Tides of Change" at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for watching the film. Attendees can also enter into a raffle to be awarded at 7 p.m. For more information, visit bit.y/future-flooding.

PLACE:SLR is a partnership between Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium, Florida Sea Grant, NOAA Sea Grant and the Mississippi State University Extension focused on enhancing sea-level rise resilience in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The primary mission of this program is to research sea-level rise and communicate risk to facilitate resilience and mitigation efforts at local and community levels.
