Engineering Construction Manager Chris Mauldin

Chris Mauldin Earns Floodplain Management Certification

Congratulations to our Engineering Construction Manager Chris Mauldin for passing the national exam to become a Certified Floodplain Manager! The certification program enhances the knowledge of floodplain management and development to promote the health and safety of the public, minimize loss of life and property, and reduce economic losses caused by flood damage.

According to the Association of State Floodplain Managers, only 25% of test-takers pass this exam on the first attempt, and Chris beat those odds.

Chris joins three other city staff members who have earned their floodplain management certification. When employees become certified, it lowers the city’s Community Rating Score and provides adjustments to discount resident’s flood insurance premiums.

In addition to being a member of the Florida Stormwater Association and the Florida Brownfields Association, Chris now holds memberships with the Association of State Floodplain Managers as well as the Florida Floodplain Managers Association.
