UPDATE: Garden Street Temporary Lane Closure Extended 

The temporary lane closure on a section of West Garden Street between North Jefferson Street and North Tarragona Street has been extended due to weather delays. The impacted lane is now expected to reopen by Friday, Oct. 8. The lane closure is impacting the westbound lane on the north side of East Garden Street as utility connections are made for the East Garden District/Jefferson Street Revitalization Project. Eastbound traffic will not be impacted. 

The East Garden District is a reactivation project inspired by unique placemaking, community growth, and the City of Pensacola’s great history. The East Garden District/Jefferson Street Revitalization Project began in April 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. The project is making a variety of improvements to Jefferson Street, including wider sidewalks with pavers, landscaping, the undergrounding of power, new utilities and drainage, road dieting and road resurfacing.
