Jefferson Street Revitalization Project Phase I to Begin April 23

Phase I of the Jefferson Street Revitalization Project is scheduled to begin Friday, April 23, which will include improvements on Jefferson Street between Garden Street and Chase Street.

Construction of phase I is expected to take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The Jefferson Street parking lot at the southwest corner of Jefferson Street and Garden Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during construction of phase I, which includes utility improvements along the west side of Jefferson Street. 

Phase II of the Jefferson Street Revitalization Project will require the closure of Jefferson Street from Garden Street to Chase Street. Another notice will be sent prior to the commencement of phase II construction that will include the official detour map.

The City of Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency is providing partial funding for this project as part of the CRA Master Redevelopment Agreement, in partnership with the East Garden District development group.
