Mayor Grover Robinson hosted a virtual press conference today, Thursday, Nov. 19 to provide an update on COVID-19 in the City of Pensacola and answer questions from the media. The press conference video is now available to view on the City's YouTube page. During the press conference, Mayor Robinson addressed current COVID-19 conditions and emphasized the importance of working together to help keep Pensacola safe and prosperous during the COVID-19 pandemic. "COVID-19 has posed a significant impact on both our health and our prosperity. Despite these impacts, the city has worked to manage a response that secures both a healthy Pensacola, but also a prosperous Pensacola...," Mayor Robinson said. "Much of our reaction to COVID-19 in public discourse is centered on politics and principle. However, the city and my response is based on neither politics nor principle, but on people. I would never choose between a safe or a prosperous city. Why would we allow ourselves to be limited to such a poor choice? My response has been very focused on achieving a safe and prosperous city."Click here to view the complete update from Mayor Robinson.
