Reus Street Revitalization Project Expected to Begin
Oct. 19

Construction for the City of Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency Reus Street Revitalization Project Phase I from Main Street to Garden Street is expected to begin Monday, Oct. 19. This project will make streetscape improvements that include sidewalks, ADA enhancements, crosswalks, lighting, landscaping, traffic calming and bicycle safety improvements.

Detours are not expected; however, expect temporary lane closures periodically. 

Construction is expected to be completed by February 2021, weather permitting, and a city construction inspector will be monitoring the project progress daily. Proper signage will be clearly designated for safe flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Accommodations for local access to residential properties during this period will be required by the contractor and closely monitored by the city.

The Community Redevelopment Agency awarded a contract to Chavers Construction, Inc. of Pensacola to complete the first phase of the Reus Street Revitalization Project.
