Governor DeSantis Visits Pensacola International Airport to Announce $4.8 Million Grant

The City of Pensacola was honored to have Gov. Ron DeSantis in Pensacola Wednesday to announce his office awarding $4.8 million to the Pensacola International Airport through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund for infrastructure enhancements at the airport.

The funding will assist with infrastructure such as taxiways and ramps so the airport can support additional maintenance, repair and overhaul, or MRO, facilities and other development to continue to grow economic opportunity in Pensacola.

“What we are doing here for workforce development, that is what’s going to transform Florida, that’s what’s going to transform the economic opportunity for our citizens…,” Mayor Grover Robinson said during the announcement at Pensacola International Airport. “We’re excited about that economic opportunity and the workforce development that will happen.”

PPD Hosts Coffee with a Cop

We hope you had the chance to stop by Coffee with a Cop at Dog House Deli this morning to chat with members of our Pensacola Police Department. This is a great opportunity for the public to come meet with the men and women of PPD in an informal setting, so be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page to see when the next event is scheduled.

Thank you to Chief Tommi Lyter and his team for their continued community outreach efforts, and for all you do to protect and serve us!
