First Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup of the Year Collects Over 51 Tons of Bulk Waste


The first Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup of 2020 was a success, collecting:

  • Over 51 tons (103,760 pounds) of bulk waste
  • 146 tires
  • 856 gallons of paint 
The cleanup took place on Saturday, Jan. 25 and included over 2,000 houses in the downtown Pensacola area. Thank you to all of the residents who participated in the cleanup.

CRA Public Workshop on Urban Core Projects Including SCAPE Set for Feb. 3


The Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency will host a public workshop Monday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to review projects for funding through the Urban Core Redevelopment Refunding and Improvements Revenue Bond, Series 2019.
 

The public is encouraged to attend the workshop and provide input on the projects.

Don't Forget: Inspection, Engineering and Planning Services Walk-In Hours Changing Feb. 3


The City of Pensacola's Inspection Services, Engineering Services and Planning Services are changing their walk-in hours for permitting in order to provide better customer service for walk-in customers and allow staff adequate time to complete online permits.

The changes will go into effect Monday, Feb. 3, with new hours as follows:

  • Inspection Services: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Engineering Services: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Planning Services: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Small business owners and suppliers are invited to connect at the Pensacola Supplier Diversity Exchange on Tuesday, Feb. 4. This is a free event featuring opportunities to market goods and services directly with local and state buyers. 

Although the event is free, attendees must register online to reserve a spot. Registration is available at dms.myflorida.com.

Interviews with the agencies and organizations are first come first served, so register fast to secure an interview with your top selections!

It's official: Pensacola International Airport is now Pensacola Intergalactic Airport for the month of February as we get ready for Pensacon 2020! Girls' Volleyball

This program is designed to provide girls ages 9-16 with the basic skills and elements of the game of volleyball. All games and practices are held at the Vickrey Resource Center in March through May. Registration is available online at webtrac.cityofpensacola.com now through Friday, Feb. 21.

Youth Soccer

It's time for Spring 2020 Pensacola Youth Soccer Registration! You can register online at pensacolayouthsoccer.com or download the registration form and sign up in person at the Vickrey Resource Center through Sunday, Feb. 16. 



General Daniel "Chappie" James' 100th Birthday Celebration Feb. 9


Join the Chappie James Museum and the General Daniel "Chappie" James Flight Academy for the celebration of Chappie James' 100th birthday. The event will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9 at the Sanders Beach Corinne Jones Center, located at 913 S. I St.
