City's Active Transportation Plan Now Available
The City of Pensacola's Final Active Transportation Plan is now available and implements an important next step in realizing the vision for future mobility in the city. By offering everyone safe mobility choices and access to opportunities through the development of a future connections map, design guidance and implementation strategies, the plan visualizes an equitable and active future for Pensacola.
The ATP is a comprehensive long-range plan developed with public input to help guide future infrastructure investments that improve the access, comfort and safety of pedestrians and cyclist through walking, biking and other human-powered modes of transportation. After multiple opportunities for the public to engage, the final plan is now available.
In October 2022, the city hosted two mobility fairs with interactive forums that gathered input from the community on their preferences related to multimodal transportation, which helped identify and set priorities for future infrastructure investments like sidewalks and bike lanes. In addition to the mobility fairs, residents were encouraged to complete an online project survey that featured interactive options to provide input from October through December.
In June 2023, the city hosted an ATP Pop-Up event to kick off the final stage of public engagement for the ATP, providing an opportunity for the public to learn more, view draft components of the plan and provide feedback.
