City of Pensacola Celebrates National Public Works Week
The City of Pensacola is excited to celebrate 2023 National Public Works Week, highlighting the hard work and dedication of the city's Public Works & Facilities Department. The City of Pensacola Public Works and Facilities team serves city residents in many ways, including maintaining and improving city infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks, stormwater systems, streetlights, traffic signals, buildings, and facilities.
National Public Works Week is celebrated every year on the third full week of May, with the 2023 celebration running May 21-27. This year's theme is "Connecting the World Through Public Works." The annual celebration spotlights the efforts of public works professionals to connect citizens through service and infrastructure, while enhancing the quality of life of the people they serve.
At the Thursday, May 11 Pensacola City Council Meeting, Mayor D.C. Reeves presented a proclamation officially declaring May 21-27 as Public Works Week in the City of Pensacola.
"National Public Works Week is a great way to educate the public about the importance of public works and how it impacts our everyday lives, while recognizing our amazing and hardworking team," Public Works & Facilities Director Amy Tootle said. "We are dedicated to providing courteous and quality service to our residents, while working every day to maintain and improve our city's infrastructure."
