ECUA Recycling Update

Due to a staffing shortage at the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority's Materials Recycling Facility, recycling for City of Pensacola Sanitation customers continues to be temporarily limited to cardboard only.

City of Pensacola Sanitation Services Department uses ECUA's recycling facility to process recyclable materials from City Sanitation customers. However, the facility is not accepting mixed recyclables.

ECUA is currently expecting to resume full operations on Monday, June 12, with a soft start during the week of May 22.

Tan recycling cans will still be collected, but materials other than cardboard will not be recycled. In the meantime, customers are urged to maintain positive recycling habits. ECUA is working as quickly as possible to bring the facility back into operation.
