Chipley, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public meeting concerning resurfacing improvements on U.S. 98 (Gregory Street) from U.S. 98 (Bayfront Street) to east of Palafox Street and U.S. 98B (Garden Street) from N Street to I-110 ramp in Escambia County on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. (CDT).
Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend the virtual meeting at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the meeting in-person at the First Presbyterian Church of Pensacola, 33 East Gregory Street, Pensacola, FL. Pre-registration is required for the virtual format and encouraged for in-person attendees. Interested persons can visit the project website at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings and register for one viewing option (virtual or in-person). The same materials will be presented for each format. This meeting is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of this project is to resurface all travel lanes, auxiliary lanes, median crossovers, and paved shoulders. Additional improvements include resurfacing the southbound ramp from I-110 onto Garden Street, upgrading pedestrian features to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements on both projects, major drainage improvements on Garden Street from west of H Street to east of B Street, and minor drainage improvements from B Street to the I-110 ramp. No additional right-of-way is required. Bids for construction are scheduled to occur spring 2024.

Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so at the meeting or may contact the FDOT Project Manager using the information provided above. The deadline to submit official comments related to this public meeting is Friday, April 28, 2023.
