Kevin Boyer
Kevin Boyer has been selected as the new Grants and Special Projects Coordinator for the City of Pensacola, bringing more than 15 years of experience in grant management, public information and media, project management and more to the position. In his role as Grants and Special Projects Coordinator, Boyer will be responsible for managing the city’s grants and grants processes, including researching potential grant funding sources for the city.
Boyer most recently served as the Executive Grants Assistant for the City of Milton, responsible for grants funding research and management. He previously worked for Gannett in a variety of reporting, editorial and management positions.
Boyer earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of West Florida and his Associate of Arts in English from Pensacola State College.
As the Grants and Special Projects Coordinator, Boyer's responsibilities will include researching available grant opportunities, monitoring existing grants, making timely reports to granting agencies, requesting reimbursement from awarded grants and ensuring the proper accounting and receipt of grants funds. Boyer will also manage the city's post-disaster grant management with FEMA and the Florida State Division of Emergency Management.
Boyer will work under the direction of Finance Director Amy Lovoy and Senior Accounting Manager Lakia McNeal to assist in the preparation of grant budgets, manage the completion of grant documents and maintain records of grant activities, along with other grant-related duties. His responsibilities will also include managing sub-grantees of the City of Pensacola and ensuring that all procurements for grant-funded projects are performed in accordance with the requirements of the grant.
