Ryan Mattox Selected as Osceola Golf Course Manager

Ryan Mattox has been selected as the new Osceola Golf Course Manager, responsible for overseeing the operation of the city-owned golf course and maintaining an exceptional golfing experience for residents and visitors.

Mattox is the founder of Impact Golf Academy at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pace, Florida, where he developed a junior golf program in addition to providing instruction to adult golfers. He has a wealth of golf management experience, previously serving as the Head Golf Professional at Pensacola Country Club from 2012-2016.

His first day in his new role as Osceola Golf Course Manager was Monday, Oct. 17.

"I am excited to begin the next chapter of my golfing career at Osceola Golf Course servicing the City of Pensacola,” Mattox said. “Building upon Osceola’s history of commitment to growing the game of golf excites me. Through innovative programming, exceptional instruction, and breakthrough technology, Osceola will strive to provide the best experience possible for both our long-time players and many new visitors to this excellent facility.”

Mattox earned his bachelor's degree in Hospitality Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management from Florida State University, and he is a PGA Class A Certified Golf Professional. Mattox brings more than 15 years of experience in the golf industry to his new role. 

As the Osceola Golf Course Manager, Mattox is responsible for all operations of the golf course, including providing leadership and direction in the development of short and long-range plans for Osceola. Mattox will also oversee employee work procedures, training and supervision, with a goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of golf course operations. 

Mattox will work under the direction of Parks & Recreation Director Adrian Stills and Deputy City Administrator David Forte, and will also be responsible for preparing and administering the operating and capital budget for Osceola Golf Course.
