City Congratulates Three New Certified Floodplain ManagersThree City of Pensacola Inspections employees recently attended training and passed the exam to become Certified Floodplain Managers in Escambia County, which will help further strengthen the city's floodplain management program. City Inspections staff Ryan Aldrich, Terry Lamb, and Glenn McPherson all passed the exam on the first attempt, bringing the total number of Certified Floodplain Managers on City of Pensacola staff to seven. Less than 50% of test-takers pass the CFM exam on the first attempt. The CFM exam is the nationally-recognized certification for floodplain management. The certification program enhances the knowledge of floodplain management and development to promote the health and safety of the public, minimize loss of life and property and reduce economic losses caused by flood damage. When employees become certified, it lowers the city’s Community Rating Score and can help provide adjustments to discount resident’s flood insurance premiums. The City of Pensacola would like to congratulate the newest Certified Floodplain Managers, and recognize all of the CFMs on staff at the city: - Building Inspections Specialist Ryan Aldrich
- Building Official Jonathan Bilby
- City Administrator Kerrith Fiddler
- Code Inspector II Terry Lamb
- Engineering Construction Manager Chris Mauldin
- Code Inspector II Glenn McPherson
- Building Inspections Specialist Robbie Weekley
