Scott, Yates, Lakeview and Strong Outfalls to Bayou Texar Stormwater Treatment Enhancement Project
to Begin Feb. 16
Construction of the Scott, Yates, Lakeview and Strong Outfalls to Bayou Texar Stormwater Treatment Enhancement Project will begin Tuesday, Feb. 16, as part of the City of Pensacola's ongoing efforts to improve water quality of area waterways throughout the city.
This project will provide proprietary stormwater treatment for three untreated drainage sub-basins within the Bayou Texar Watershed. This treatment will be provided by retrofitting the underground stormwater conveyance system with underground treatment units to remove trash, sediment and certain solid pollutants and prevent them from being discharged into Bayou Texar.
This project will take place at three separate locations: The end of Scott Street at Bayou Texar, the end of Strong Street at Bayou Texar, and the intersection of Yates Avenue and Lakeview Avenue. All work will be contained within the limits of the city-owned right of way.
The City of Pensacola awarded a contract to Roads Inc. of Pensacola for construction of the Scott, Yates, Lakeview and Strong Outfalls to Bayou Texar Stormwater Treatment Enhancement Project.
Construction of the entire project is expected to take approximately 135 calendar days to complete, weather permitting.
A city construction inspector will be monitoring the contractor and project progress daily. Every effort will be made to minimize the impact to traffic flow and adjacent properties during construction. In addition, the contractor will be required to implement all necessary safety precautions onsite.
For questions about this project, please contact City of Pensacola Public Works and Facilities at 850-435-1645.
