Mayor Grover Robinson, Pensacola City Councilman P.C. Wu, District 1, the Scenic Heights Neighborhood Association and the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department cordially invite the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the re-installation of Tierra Verde Park Playground located at 5850 Reynosa Drive, Pensacola, FL 32504 on Saturday, March 14th at 10:00 a.m. 
 
Councilman P.C. Wu expressed high regard on how the playground’s revamp will impact his district, “I am very excited about this great addition to District 1. Mayor Robinson, the Parks and Recreation Department and I are committed to bringing the best to our citizens and this is evidence of the fulfillment of that promise. I hope this project will bring our fellow citizens enjoyment and joy for years to come."
 
Acquired as land in the 1970’s but established as a park in 1999 from the efforts of two young girls who approached the City Council with a request to allocate funds for its development, Tierra Verde has evolved into a beloved neighborhood park within the Scenic Heights community. The City of Pensacola alongside community members of Scenic Heights have invested time and effort into this project and are proud to present it to the public. “We are so grateful to Brian Cooper and the City's Parks and Recreation Department, the loving and involved neighbors in Scenic Heights and our hard-working SHNA leaders for breathing new life into this lovely park. We look forward to continuing to work together to take our community pride to new heights,” as shared by Lara Mcknight, founder of Scenic Heights Neighborhood Association.
