[ARCHIVED] Downtown Street Closures August 1 - 3

Road Work Banner

Downtown street closures scheduled this week

Twenty-four-hour street closures will be required this week on the following city streets to replace bollards that were removed during the recent milling and resurfacing work.

  • Tues., Aug. 1: Jefferson Street, from Zarragossa to Government Street.
  • Wed., Aug. 2: Government Street, from Baylen to Palafox Street.
  • Thurs., Aug. 3: Intendencia Street, from Palafox to Jefferson Street.

These will be 24-hour total street closures involving all travel lanes. Only “local traffic” will be allowed during the closures.

Crews will also be working on stamped crosswalks on Palafox Street, south of Main Street. Drivers should anticipate intermittent and alternating lane closures during daytime hours.

The construction schedule is weather dependent, and work may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. More information on the street resurfacing program is available by contacting the city’s engineering consultant, Atkins, Inc., (850) 380-9188.
