A man who tried to steal an
elderly woman’s purse from her while she was entering a local business last
month has been arrested.
Kannon Erich Kirchharr, 18, of
the 5500 block of Chipper Lane, Pace, was arrested this afternoon. He was
charged with one count of robbery and seven counts of burglary.
The robbery occurred around 7:20
a.m. December 1, 2016, at the Walmart, 2650 Creighton Road.
Detective Shannan Briarton said
the 95-year-old woman was walking toward the grocery side of the business from
the parking lot. As she got to the entrance, a male came up behind her, grabbed
her purse and tried unsuccessfully to run with it. He then fled the scene.
Another suspect – Savanna Shiver,
18, of the 4000 block of Renoir Street, Pensacola – also was charged with seven
counts of burglary.
Kirchharr and Shiver were charged
with vehicle burglaries that occurred at homes October 18 and 19, 2016, in
Shannon Circle. The suspects rummaged through seven vehicles but nothing was
reportedly stolen.
Kirchharr also was charged with criminal
mischief for painting graffiti onto wooden slats around a dumpster at Crestview
at Cordova, 3500 Creighton Road, on December 2, 2016.
