Last week, City Sanitation crews worked the entire week in the tornado damaged area while normal yard trash collection was suspended so that the crews could concentrate on the damaged areas. This week, crews are working to get the rest of the city’s yard trash routes back on schedule. Today, crews are finishing the Tuesday yard trash route and will begin working on the Thursday route by mid-morning. Crews have collected three times their normal load volume off the Monday and Tuesday yard trash routes this week but we expect to be back on schedule by the end of the week.
This week, Parks & Recreation crews have worked after hours in the tornado damaged area to cut up some of the oversized logs that have been placed curbside and those crews hauled 6 loads out of the tornado damaged area. Sanitation and Parks & Recreation crews will be in the tornado damaged area on Saturday, 3/12/16 to continue the cleanup. As of Wednesday, 3/9/16, city crews have removed 272 loads of debris from the tornado damaged areas.
