Kids can get a chance to be "behind the wheel" and rub elbows with their hometown heroes at the Play Pensacola Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, March 12th at Community Maritime Park. Kids can climb on and explore some of their favorite vehicles including fire engines, police cars, military vehicles, construction trucks and more.

There will be games and activities for all ages including bounce houses, costume characters, food vendors, and a DJ. Trek Bicycle Store of Pensacola will host bicycle safety clinics for kids and the Emerald Coast Kite Flyers will be there too! The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free.

Be sure and cheer on our area's first responders who will compete at the Blue Wahoos Stadium starting at 9 a.m. in the Guns vs. Hoses charity softball game hosted by the Pensacola Police Department and Escambia County Sheriff's Office. This fun and light-hearted softball game is held annually to raise funds for local charities. This year’s recipient is the Krewe du YaYa’s Keeping Abreast Foundation which provides funding for early detection, advocacy, education and support services for those affected by breast cancer.

The Touch-A-Truck event is sponsored by the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department, Community Maritime Park, My Pensacola Credit Union, Trek Bicycle Store of Pensacola, Cox Media, News Radio 1620 and Cat Country 98.7.
