Governor Scott Recognizes Six Mayors for Supporting Enterprise Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, during the State of the State address, Governor Rick Scott recognized the following six mayors for supporting the new $250 million Florida Enterprise Fund: Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward, Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson, and Apalachicola Mayor Van Johnson.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn - Since December 2010 the Tampa area unemployment rate has dropped from 10.7 to 4.6 percent. Over the year in November, the Tampa area led the state in job creation and added 40,500 new jobs. The area also had the highest job demand in Florida, with 52,171 openings.
Enterprise Florida jobs wins in the Tampa community include:
Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. with 490 new jobs;
Bristol-Myers Squibb with 428 new jobs;
United Services Auto with 1215 new jobs;
HealthPlan Services, Inc. with 675 new jobs; and
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. with 255 new jobs.
Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry - Since December 2010 the Jacksonville area unemployment rate has dropped from 10.3 to 4.7 percent. Over the year in November, the Jacksonville area gained 16,300 new jobs.
Enterprise Florida job wins in the Jacksonville community include:
Bank of America with 1500 new jobs;
General Electric Company with 500 new jobs;
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care with 145 new jobs;
Adecco USA, Inc. with 185 new jobs;
DB Services New Jersey, Inc. with 560 new jobs;
Advent Software, Inc. with 123 new jobs;
Kaman with 200 new jobs;
Embraer with 50 new jobs; and
L&J Diesel Services, Inc. with 20 new jobs.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer - Since December 2010 the Orlando area unemployment rate has dropped from 10.8 to 4.5 percent. Over the year in November, the Orlando area added 39,900 new jobs. The area also had the second-highest job demand in Florida, with 39,160 openings.
Enterprise Florida jobs wins in the Orlando community include:
VOXX International Corporation with 134 new jobs;
Orange US Tennis Association with 154 new jobs;
Orange Siemens Energy, Inc. with 50 new jobs; and
Osceola ICAMR, Inc. with 215 new jobs.
Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward - Since December 2010 the Pensacola area unemployment rate has dropped from 9.9 to 4.7 percent. Over the year in November, the Pensacola area added 3,300 new jobs.
Enterprise Florida jobs wins in the Pensacola community include:
Navy Federal Credit Union with 7,200 new jobs;
Financial Management & Investment Corporation with 15 new jobs;
International Paper Pensacola Mill with 12 new jobs; and
West Fraser, Inc. with 105 new jobs.
Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson - Since December 2010 the Fort Myers area unemployment rate has dropped from 11.9 to 4.5 percent. Over the year in November, the Naples-Fort Myers area added 4,100 jobs.

Hertz Corporation with 700 new jobs;
Gartner, Inc. with 400 new jobs;
Paramount Transportation Logistics Services with 162 new jobs;
Advanced Components International LLC with 42 new jobs;
Camuto Group with 50 new jobs;
Gartner Group, Inc. with 400 new jobs; and
The Hertz Corporation with 700 new jobs.
Apalachicola Mayor Van Johnson - Since December 2010 the Apalachicola-Franklin County area unemployment rate has dropped from 8.2 to 4.3 percent.
