[ARCHIVED] City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Offers Winter Basketball Programs

The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department is offering several options for youth basketball this winter, including leagues and a Basketball Boot Camp.

The recreation league at Vickrey Resource Center is for ages 5 to 14 and will start in January. Registration begins October 26 and continues through November 30. The cost to participate is $72 for city residents and $83 for non-city residents. Participants can register in person at Gull Point and Woodland Heights Resource Centers until Vickrey Center reopens, or mail registration to the Athletics division at Exchange Park, 3200 East Lakeview Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32503. Registration forms are available online at PlayPensacola.com.

The Fricker Resource Center will offer a recreational league for ages 5 to 14 and a U10 to U14 competitive youth basketball league beginning in January. Registration will be held the entire month of December at Fricker Resource Center. The cost for the recreation league is $50 for city residents, $55 for non-city residents. The cost is $350 per team in the competitive league.

The Fricker Resource Center is also offering a youth Basketball Boot Camp to prepare players for the upcoming basketball season. The boot camp is for boys and girls ages 4 to 14 and will be offered November 9 through December 8. Participants can register in person at Fricker Resource Center now through the start of the program. The cost is $10 for city residents and $20 for non-city residents.
