The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a J.A.K.E.S. event on Saturday, September 19 at Community Maritime Park from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
J.A.K.E.S. stands for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge of Ethics and Sportsmanship and is a program of the National Wild Turkey Federation to inform, educate and involve youth in wildlife conservation and the wise stewardship of natural resources.
Children and youth will participate in a fun-filled day of age appropriate activities such as archery, hunting and fishing education and skills practice, and firearm safety. This event will be held alongside the 5210 Northwest Florida Day of Play. Admission for both events is FREE and we will have one-year J.A.K.E.S. memberships available for $10 which includes lunch that day.
Sponsors of the J.A.K.E.S. Event include Academy Sports, Advance Insurance, Buffalo Rock-Pepsi, Kingline Equipment, Mike’s Outdoors, Navy Federal Credit Union, Outcast, and Pediatric Therapy Center of Northwest Florida.
