The City of Pensacola City Council awarded a contract to B&W, Inc. of Pensacola, Florida for the construction of East Cross, Yates, Escambia, and Osceola Outfalls at Bayou Texar Stormwater Treatment Enhancement Project. The goal of this project is to provide treatment for two stormwater basins which currently discharge into Bayou Texar with no form of treatment. This treatment will be provided via the installation of two proprietary underground treatment units. These treatment units will be installed at the eastern end of Yates Avenue and Escambia Avenue.
Starting on April 8, 2019, this project will begin construction and if we’re able to avoid weather delays, it is anticipated to take 100 days to complete.
As you own property in close proximity to this work, it is the City’s desire to keep residents informed and we definitely want to accommodate any concerns you may have both now and during construction. A City Construction Inspector will be monitoring the contractor and project progress daily. We will make every effort to be considerate of the fact we’re working in a residential area as well as force the contractor to implement all necessary safety precautions onsite. We would greatly appreciate your understanding of our project and its direct benefit to Bayou Texar’s water quality.
