[ARCHIVED] Tropical Storm Gordon

Officials meet at the EOC

The latest forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate Tropical Storm Gordon is expected to make landfall in coastal Mississippi as a weak hurricane on Tuesday night, possibly into Wednesday morning. The Pensacola area has been placed under a tropical storm warning.

At this time, no evacuations have been ordered for Escambia County. However, Escambia County Superintendent Malcolm Thomas has cancelled classes for Tuesday. School is expected to resume Wednesday.

The Pensacola area may experience gusty winds Tuesday afternoon and into the evening. One to two inches of rainfall can be expected.

The Pensacola International Airport is seeing a few delays due to national weather conditions. Be sure to check with your airline for flight information. You can also view flight updates by checking out the live flights schedule.
