Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking to get more involved and make a difference in the community? Whether the need is to accumulate volunteer or service hours, or simply help, there are a number of great opportunities available throughout the year. We are seeking friendly and enthusiastic individuals, groups, and organizations of all ages to volunteer their time and talents to the Parks and Recreation Department. These opportunities fall into two basic categories.
Community Outreach
Volunteer assistance is needed in youth, adult and senior citizen programs, programs for the disabled, athletics, special events, community centers, Osceola Golf Course and Roger Scott Tennis Center. See our triannual activity guide for current programming.
Available Opportunities
5210 Day of Play - set up /break down; activity stations
Ciclovia - set up / break down; activity stations
Annual Fishing Clinics: Pensacola Recreational Fisherman's Association Kid's Fishing Clinic (May) and Sea No Limits (October)
Play Pensacola Annual Easter Event - set up / break down; face painting; event field volunteers
Play Pensacola Annual Halloween Event - set up / break down; face painting; event field volunteers
Community Service
Park beautification, cleanup, and environmental awareness are instrumental in protecting Pensacola’s resources. There are many needs including litter clean up and recycling, painting over graffiti, parade bead removal, minor repairs and improvement, and landscaping.

Available Opportunities
Adopt-A-Spot through Keep Pensacola Beautiful - Opportunity for your group to adopt one of 93 parks and greenspaces and hold quarterly cleanups and improvement projects.
Monthly Beach Cleanups organized by our partners Ocean Hour Florida
- Bay Bluffs Preserve & Chimney Park Cleanups - 2nd Saturday of each month
- Bartram Park, Graffiti Bridge and Wayside Park Project/Greenshores Cleanups - 3rd Saturday of each month
- Bayou Texar Boat Ramp, Bruce Beach, Phillip Payne Bridge and Sanders Beach Cleanups - bi-monthly or as needed
Eagle Scout Projects and Service Requirements - Are you a scout looking for a potential eagle project to help out in your community? With 93 parks and green spaces, 10 resource centers and 6 athletic facilities the City has endless opportunities. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to get started.
