Downtown Wayfinding System

In December 2001 the City completed Phase I of the Downtown Wayfinding System. The purpose of the system is to promote the use of public facilities, tourist-oriented businesses, recreational amenities and parking in Downtown Pensacola. Motorists entering downtown are greeted at those downtown gateways that are not otherwise obvious, then organized and distributed to key destinations and parking via vehicular directional signs. Phase II of the project will include the Pedestrian Directories and Historic Neighborhood District Identity signs.
